This is a not-for-profit project that emerged from community/research partnerships to strengthen social inclusion and active citizenship within fishing communities and to highlight the continuing legacy of existing human/ocean relationships and their importance for Ocean Literacy.
All financial contributions from donations and book sales are used for the creation, production and distribution of the book to associations, schools and libraries primarily within the Azores Islands. Any funds received beyond the project expenditures will assist additional educational efforts and other direct aid to the Azorean fishing communities.
